--> birthday II: clone wars

The Saga Continues!

ACT ONE: The Crater

Several streets over and five minutes into the bush, the landscape gives way to something vast and wonderful.

Down the path and round the corner...

... lies "The Crater" (and an unrelated non-namesake crate).

The dry and barren vista demands exploration -

- and who are we to disobey?

Sparse foliage opts for quality over quantity.

... the work of violent snails? Or is the tree playing at victim?

... well, at least this one's certainly not.

The shoes do their thing and look good doing it.

Me and my cam-cam, in a tree.

Looking inconspicuous as ever.

Even in death this tree maintains an imposing posture.

Onlookers to the madness.

The amigos go marching one by one, hurrar.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

ACT TWO: Sailing South in Search of More Festive Climes.

Down the freeway and across town to a shade-dappled nook for a picnic and some unusual feats.

Under the boughs of a rather picturesque tree...

... is where you'll find my friends and me.

After lunch practice.

A supportive hand.

Dutifully collecting the blackmail material.

Tiny visitations.

Secret Ninja Camera Technique, as practiced by Ess.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

ACT THREE: Small Island Stops on the Sea

First stop, the Ten-pin Bowls to see some friends and challenge each other to some vicious air hockey dueling. Next up, op-shopping across the road and the subsequent collecting of treasures. To the stores for a box of refreshing ice blocks and a run-in with a friend, then on to Ess's to pick up and drop off some loot. With said loot successfully exchanged, we headed back up the coast to be back in time for touch footy.

Oops.

A small series of framed plush imagery of roses.

More framed antique-style awesomeness.

... I couldn't justify the goblet to myself, in the end.

Old lady furniture has style.

Four pillowcases for a dollar.

ACT FOUR: A Stormy Clash

With a storm hanging overhead, Eve & Faye took us to the fields - me and Ess with our boots in the back, in case reinforcements were needed. With only one sub and several players looking to be in pain and poor Faye out of commission before half time, I got to take to the fields for the first time since July last year. The footy itch was still there. :^3
(and many, many thankies to Ess, who sat it out so I could play - thankies heaps!)

The best weather for touch. :^)

Mmmhmmm.

The deadly duo in action!

Dramatic rain-swept action!

More dramatic rain-swept action!

Faye ninja-ing it near the line.

Phew. Homeward bound, with footy euphoria still running through our veins.

Home to Faye's for a shower and some delicious din-din, and another slice of rich banana cake in front of Clone Wars.

Nibbits.
