Knox spent the whole trip home silently patting his new guitar, then proceeded to make with the face-melting music once in the door, as Somie took up the spanner and whipped his new chair into shape, like the DIY man that he is.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the house in the bat-cave, Jac was busy sifting through her fresh findings to the distant tune of Jimi Hendrix.
Bounty and strange fetishes aside, I do believe a stock-take is in order - too many things have slipped through my lazy fingers as of late, and are in need of tying down with keyboard and blog before they go on permanent leave. So, without further ado, here's the not-so-latest:
Car: Took Newton (that's his name... for now) to a family friend to be looked over - replaced the spark plugs, changed the oil and filter, and checked everything else. Ran a bit happier after that, but still coughs smoke and smells of two-stroke on occasion. Oil seems to be fairing better, though. Faye came over, and we did a car-exchange - her Eve, for my Newton - for a quick run around the block. Eve was very polite and well-mannered - but still had a bit of spunk under the trunk; and Newton, as primitive as he is, managed to get the thumbs up from Faye. :^) After we said our farewells to each other and our new acquaintances, we both retreated to affectionately pat our respective cars, and quietly whispered reassurances of our complete love and devotion to them. Yes, the bond between girl and car is very strong.
Uni: Locked in the preferences on the 7th, and have to wait till the 21st(?) to see if our prayers were answered. B Design (Architecture) @ UNCLE is up first on my list, and -hopefully- I won't have to tell you the rest. Fingers crossed, four-leaf in the pocket, and on the look-out for black cats.
Ninja Training: Umm - ask me again in a few days...! ;^D (ie, Jac has been REALLY lazy and it's a wonder she's still able to lift her pencil).
Eyes: Tried the 1/2 monthly contacts - didn't go down as well with my eyes as I'd hoped. So, telling the little sadists of concave jello to shove it - I went out and got a new pair of glasses. 8^) Needed doing - my old glasses were a script behind, and a little boring. And, to further declare my independence from the little hydration-sucking buggers that now regularly turn my eyes red - I decided to embrace the four-eyes culture, and got myself some very styling rectangular tortoise-shell specs. I look like a studious uni student now. M'rawr. Pictures later (forehead pending.)
Mmmm. There's more, but I can't think of it right now (and I need to go have a shower - and if you don't think that's a good enough excuse - COME SMELL ME.)
:^)
And lastly, a word from our sponsors:
Somie personally recommends MYSTERY SAUZE -
Highly likely to be dubious in quality, and guaranteed to contain at least fifteen unpronounceable preservatives in every serve!!
Try MYSTERY SAUZE - it's the SAUCIEZT!
