I accepted my offer into Arts in Architecture at CU today, and applied for residence in the university village. Mum's bought me a set of tea towels, so I'm all set. :^) This February, I'm going to uni in Canberra.
Woke up late, and found Dad working on a circuit from my car that controls the engine (ECU). Found out it was configured for an automatic car - and since it couldn't find the auto transmission, it'd put itself in 'emergency mode' and been running the car more than 20% rich. Changed a few resistors, put it back in and the motor warning light disappeared. Took the new and improved Newton out for a spin (Dad drove), set him through some high revs and let him clear his system - and didn't smell like two-stroke anymore. I almost missed it. Next, I tuned and programmed the radio, and put some radio stations from Canberra in there too - waiting silently till I make the trek. So - Newton is happy, and so am I.
The rent for the uni village is $135-200 per week, and the most Centrelink will support me with will be $244 per fortnight. So, job it is then. Mum doesn't think I'll have time for one though, so I don't know how I'm going to afford all this. I can get a loan through Dad for semester fees and pay him back without interest, and Mum said that since they're paying for what I eat here, they can pay for what I eat there too, so my food expenses are covered. But unless I get a job, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, and not going to be paying Dad back very fast, either. Hopefully I can find a job that'll fit in with my uni obligations - I'm happy to live frugally, but a little bit more money at the end of the day would be nice.
Things'll work out if I want them to work out. And I do, so they will. :^)
Also, in other news - coffee ice cream is the bomb. Must make sure I have some in Canberra with me.
